Finally, after the war, we took some time off and traveled to Eilat for a vacation. I love this city it has it all - great hotels, beautiful sea and good food. What else do you need for a good vacation?

No dull moment in Israel.
We at war for the past 12 days, every day hundred of missiles are flying over our heads, 3 kidnapped soldiers.
My whole family lives in the north, my husband was called to reserve and the only thing I can think about is how the hell I'm I going to explain to my 2 years old daughter where is her daddy and why he is not coming home today?
People around the world have plenty complains about Israel of being the aggressive one, but none of them actually ever lived in a place where all of their neighbors wanted to kill them just because they are Jewish!!!
There is no other place for us - HOME SWEET HOME

This weekend we will be celebrating Shavuot, which according to Jewish tradition, the Ten Commandments were given to Moses on Mount Sinai on Shavout. That is why this holiday is called "Zman Matan Toratenu" - the Time of the giving of our law thus it has become the tradition that on Shavout we eat only dairy products.
Shavout is also the festival of new fruits, when each man brought the first of his barley, wheat, grapes, figs, olive-oil, pomegranates, and honey to the Temple in Jerusalem. There, everyone took part in the Bikkurim (First Fruits) ceremony, which has been revived in new dress in modern Israel.
Here are some Shavuot dairy recipes:
Cheese and Olives Pie
Cheese and onion pie
Cheese and Passiflora cake
Cheese pastry
Cream of broccoli Soup
Cucumbers with yogurt salad
Olive bread
Potatoes with cream and cheese
Potatoes with mushrooms and cream
Roasted black bream with yogurt sauce
Salmon steak with sage butter and white wine
Spinach, Roquefort cheese and walnuts Quiche
